Team

No office, no standing meetings.

Most of us have never met in person. Here's the actual mechanism that lets a volunteer group in 9 countries ship four products anyway.

The rules

Four things that make it work.

  1. 01

    Async by default

No standing meetings. Decisions happen in issues and PRs, in writing, so anyone in any timezone can catch up and weigh in.

  2. 02

    RFCs in the open

Anything bigger than a bugfix gets a written proposal before code, and it's public from the first draft — not shared once it's already decided.

  3. 03

    No gatekeeping

You don't need an invite, a CV, or a sponsor inside the project to open a PR. Review is on the work, not on who you are.

  4. 04

    Ship small

Small PRs, frequent releases. A feature that takes six months gets split into six one-month pieces, each one shippable on its own.

See it in practice.

Every open issue, every RFC, and every merged PR across all four products is public — the process isn't a description, it's the log.
